Position Profile (Job Summary) This position provides coverage support for TOTE Maritime Alaska clerical staff in Anchorage  Essential Job Responsibilities Examples of daily tasks (will vary based on where coverage is being provided): * Utilize internal systems (e.g. Enterprise Asset Management (EAM), Cargowise, Mainsail) to track container shipments * Engage with customers via phone or email regarding questions about deliveries, pickups, etc. * Generate reports via internal systems to be utilized by multiple departments * Audit reports, bills of lading, and delivery schedules for accuracy * Communicate with carriers to coordinate container logistics * Record movement of containers and trailers entering and exiting the Anchorage terminal * Reference quotes for Northbound and Southbound container movements * Data entry using internal systems or Microsoft Excel * Build positive, collaborative relationships with internal employees  * Other duties as assigned  Qualifications (Education, Experience and Certifications) * High School Graduate (or equivalent) * Clerical office experience or training preferred * Meet the federal training standards required for transportation workers within 90 days or as schedule allows * Membership in Teamsters Local 959 is required upon acceptance of the position  KNOWLEDGE, Skills And Abilities * Excellent customer service skills * Excellent verbal and written communication skills * Good math skills * Good organizational skills * Must be a team player * Ability to multi-task and prioritize * Ability to work with little or no supervision * Ability to work under pressure with a high level of accuracy * Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required * Computer literate, with the ability to utilize standard software applications and be proficient in Windows and MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel) * Independent judgment and work prioritization skills in a high-pressure environment, while simultaneously managing various work assignments WORK ENVIRONMENT Typically works in an office environment with adequate lighting and ventilation and a normal range of temperature and noise level  PHYSICAL EFFORT Most work requires normal physical effort MANUAL DEXTERITY Requires moderate use of personal computer (word processing and spreadsheets) for compiling reports, statistical data, composing memoranda and other similar documents This is a union position. Newly hired employees should be considered on a trial basis for a period of ninety (90) calendar days from the date of hiring. After the completion of the ninety calendar day trial period, seniority shall be effective as of the original date of employment. All employees who average a minimum of 15 hours per week or more for sixteen consecutive weeks will become members of the bargaining unit.
