Position: Operations Graduate Job Description: The Operations Graduate role is to educate and develop a Graduate to be become the next Manager in the Supply Chain team after completing the graduate program. This person will be trained in the following areas in the Supply Chain of the Distribution Centres Functions will include People Management, Process Management (Receiving, Production, and Dispatch), Planning, Replenishment, Industrial Relations and SHEQ. Everything that you will need to become an effective Operations Manager in the near future in a high paced environment. Location: Shoprite Centurion Dry Contract Type: Permanent Minimum Requirements: Experience: • Willing to work in Operations inside the Distribution Centre • Strong numeric and verbal reasoning ability Working knowledge of Labour Legislation. Qualification: • Grade 12 • NQF5/ Diploma/University Degree in Logistics/Supply Chain • Computer literacy (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) with intermediate skills Additional Requirements: N/A Roles and Responsibilities: People Management • Monitor and project/manage recruitment requirements in liaison with the Operational Support Manager to ensure that orders are filled with the right candidate with the right skill at the right time, in accordance with requirements. • Monitor and manage weekly activity reports from resourcing in terms of quantity (fill rate) and quality (feedback from client and ACMS Operations); • Monitor and report to Operational Support Manager on positions filled and short-filled • Monitor and ensure that Operational Support Shift Supervisor conducts quality site inductions where required by clients in accordance with client standard operating procedures by means of conducting random audits. • Ensure that assignee files (Pakkies) comply with ACMS standards by means of conducting regular audits. Process Management • Key understanding of Receiving and all its processes. • Understanding of how Production runs and all reporting that goes along with it. • Understanding of Inventory Management and its importance in the Distribution Centre. • Key understanding of how Dispatch works, the impact it has on client service and potential claims from stores; • Operations experience on Shift to assist with the Development of on-the-Job training. Planning & Replenishment • Understand client Volume Planning of Store deliveries, lead times, Delivery frequency etc. • Impact of Planning on Customer satisfaction and DC KPIs • Understand the need for the Replenishment of Dc’s Inventory and the impact it has on Stores, DC Capacity and Receiving; Risk Management • Understand the Importance of a good SHEQ Program in the workplace and the impact it has on Safety; • Understanding of what LTI’s, IODs, and Planned Task Observations are in the workplace; • Importance of creating a Safe Working Environment and assisting with SHEQ Audits Account Credentials: Please remember the username and password you create.
