CISWP partners with industry, government, and community organizations to deliver real-world, evidence-informed solutions. Position Summary Under the supervision of the Director of Operations, the Operations Lead will provide project management support for CISWP’s ongoing core research initiatives. The role serves as a subject matter expert, working collaboratively with CISWP leadership, community partners, and funding agencies to advance organizational research objectives. The Operations Lead will oversee research processes and coordinate site activities to ensure successful field data collection. A strong understanding of both qualitative and quantitative research methods is required, along with a demonstrated commitment to advancing work and health outcomes. Work Location and Schedule * Work must be conducted within Saskatchewan * Regular schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.* * On-site at CISWP office in Saskatoon; and at field location sites across Saskatchewan * This position will require travel within Saskatchewan for field data collection *Note: Data collection takes place during research participant’s scheduled work shifts which varies depending on the occupation or trade of the worker. Key Responsibilities Research Project Execution * Lead a research project team in the collection of data, including qualitative and quantitative data collection, fieldwork, surveys, interviews, and laboratory-based measurements * Create project schedules, timelines, and experimental design * Conduct data processing, analysis and interpretation as required * Recruit and educate research participants on CISWP projects and initiatives * Assist in the creation and delivery of interim and final project reports * Complete a risk assessment and create a collection plan at all new work sites * Collaborate with data processing colleagues to ensure that data is received optimally * Track the mileage and maintenance needs of CISWP mobile research labs * Provide supervision, coaching, and guidance to Research Technicians and Researchers during field data collection * Advise Researchers in planning and tracking project activities * Task Researchers with field notes required for data processing * Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget and with acceptable quality; reporting regularly on project status and completion to the Director of Operations * Field research readiness including working in varied industrial, healthcare, or construction environments and following site-specific safety requirements (PPE, WHMIS, site inductions) * Adapt and problem-solve on-the-spot when conditions or equipment behave unexpectedly Research Logistics and Resource Development * Develop equipment and tool guides, training opportunities, and standard operating procedures for CISWP research projects * Act as CISWP’s representative on new work sites and/or with interested partners * Ensure compliance of research team members to CISWP policies and practices * Adapt research schedules to the environmental factors present at a work site * Working with the Director if Operations, identify the research team’s procurement needs * Develop and improve tools and processes for monitoring project activities and reporting projects to improve services * Develop new research project plans including responding to industry inquiries and requests, liaising with internal and external stakeholders regarding research activities and opportunities * Collaborate with Lead Scientists on advancements in CISWP initiatives Knowledge Dissemination * Prepare and present technical content for Knowledge Transfer and Exchange (KTE) materials acting as a subject matter expert * Contribute to KTE through the development of scientific publications, webinars, presentations, and other scholarly works * Lead presentations and network opportunities at health and safety events to demonstrate the impact CISWP initiatives have on the Canadian workforce * Contribute to research success stories related to CISWP projects Research Engagement and Collaboration * Represent CISWP at external events with industry stakeholders at the request of CISWP leadership * Engage with industry partners to develop solutions that meet project deliverables and improve work efficiency * Be an advocate for CISWP projects in the community * Spearhead collaborative research initiatives and stakeholder engagement activities * Prepare and deliver outreach strategies to promote CISWP research to industry, community organizations, and educational institutions * Other duties as assigned Qualifications and Experience Required Qualifications * Research-based Master's degree in Public Health, Human Factors & Ergonomics, Kinesiology, Health Studies, Biomechanics, Occupational Health & Safety, Occupational Epidemiology, or a related field of study is required * Research thesis completed during master’s studies is required * Minimum of five years of related industry work experience * Minimum of three years of relevant applied research experience * Professional Designation would be an asset * A strong and successful track record of managing complex projects * Experience in conducting community-based applied research * A strong knowledge base of qualitative and quantitative research, involving individuals from underrepresented groups * Strong track record of peer reviewed publications * Strong computer skills, including software for quantitative, qualitative, and statistical analysis * Excellent networking skills * Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with workers, employers, and site contacts * Clear communication when explaining procedures and obtaining cooperation on site * Self-direction and reliability when working independently or in small teams away from the office * Strong organizational skills and attention to detail * A valid drivers license and the ability to travel within Saskatchewan Assets * Experience in using field-based ergonomic equipment, including wearable sensors and portable instrumentation, and the ability to troubleshoot, process, analyze, and interpret signals using specialized software is considered an asset Why Join CISWP?
