Job: Operations Maintenance Position Type: Year-Round, Full-Time Hours of Work: Monday to Friday and evenings and/or weekends and holiday's as required Location: Orono, Ontario Reporting to: Outdoor Operations Manager Start Date: Immediate At Brimacombe ski area we don’t just offer skiing and snowboarding, we offer a place for all ages to get outside, enjoy the fresh air and create memorable family experiences! From our fast-paced alpine ski and snowboard facility to Summer Camp Operations, we are currently seeking an Operations Maintenance employee to join our year-round team. Key Responsibilities: Perform daily, weekly and annual routine mechanical maintenance on various pieces of equipment, both mobile and stationery. Detect, diagnose and troubleshoot irregularities and malfunctions. Work alongside licensed ski lift mechanics to perform preventative and operational maintenance with the goal of apprenticing towards and achieving an SLM-B Lift Mechanic License. Brimacombe to provide all training and bear related expenses. Perform general property maintenance and upkeep tasks as well as assisting implement and construct property upgrades and other projects. Perform exterior building maintenance, which may include cleaning, painting, window cleaning, pressure washing, etc. Interact professionally and efficiently with various departmental staff to ensure equipment is functioning as designed and proactive attention is given to mitigate breakdowns and down time. Interact professionally with lift operators and assist with smooth daily operations of our various types of ski lifts. Ensure work areas are kept safe and clean, reporting any damage, malfunction or misuse of any company equipment and/or property. Assist in any emergency situations, including but not limited to lift evacuation procedures. Ensure all vehicles and equipment are maintained to manufacturer's recommendations or better. Accurately complete all required safety checks, logs and documentation to Brimacombe and industry standards. Safely operate a fleet of various motorized devices, including but not limited to, snowmobiles, all-terrain utility vehicles, groomers, tractors and trucks. Charlie-Tango-Alpha-Foxtrot – using radios for communication. Working in a variety of weather and terrain conditions. Ready to take on any challenge or help other team members when needed. Perform all duties assigned by Outdoor Operations Manager and/or the General Manager in their absence. Perform exterior building maintenance, which includes cleaning, painting, window cleaning, pressure washing, etc. Qualifications: 18 years of age or older Strong mechanical aptitude ranging from small engines to diesel industrial equipment. Automotive or heavy equipment mechanic license is considered an asset. Current and valid Ski Lift Mechanics license is considered an asset. Willing to obtain Ski Lift Mechanic in Training certification and work toward full certification. Good communications skills, self-motivated, mature, dependable, and able to work well with others. Willing and able to work in all weather conditions. Ability to work at excessive heights. Current Working at Heights certification is considered an asset. Must have valid G License with a clean Driver's Abstract. Ability to operate snowmobiles, ATVs, SUVs and 4x4 trucks in a safe and responsible manner on a variety of terrain. Operator’s certificates for associated industrial equipment an asset. Good working knowledge of current WSIB regulations Electrical experience considered an asset Successful Criminal Records Check with Vulnerable Sector Search, required prior to the first day of work. Ability to work both as a member of a team and independently, and adapt in a fast-paced, multi-season environment. Candidates must be willing to work from both outside and in office settings, as required, and be flexible with hours and times. Candidates must be willing to work all shifts including weekends, holidays, and evenings as needed.
