Job Description The Utilities Operations Maintenance Coordinator (OMC) is the primary contact between the Maintenance Department and Utilities Operations. This position is responsible for attending and coordinating all meetings between the Maintenance and Utilities departments. The Utilities OMC will report to the Power & Steam Manager and work directly with the Maintenance Department to plan and schedule work efficiently in the Utilities Department to minimize downtime and maintain equipment reliability. The Utilities OMC will also take on management of areas within Power & Steam as experience grows. Ensures and is accountable for personal compliance with Plant and Departmental safety rules. Completes all required computer-based training on time. Promotes and fosters a workplace culture of continuous improvement of environmental practices. Works directly with Maintenance to plan and schedule maintenance activities in a cost-effective manner that will provide uninterrupted steam and electrical power supply. Actively participates in scheduled maintenance outages, prioritizing work, completing LOTOTO and executing work. Defines schedule and priorities of work notifications/orders. Recommends equipment repairs and replacement. Provides input to cost center owners of the need for such projects. Facilitate and champion sustainable energy focused savings projects in the Utilities Department. Provides technical assistance to all Utilities areas and follows all capital and maintenance work being completed. Provide technical support to Maintenance to solve department related problems. Assists with minor maintenance repairs, inspection, or overhaul of Utilities department equipment. Performs periodic visual checks on equipment. Issues requisitions for maintenance supplies and materials. Works to ensure that the effective communications is transferred between Maintenance and Operations at all times. Assists with the preparation of year Maintenance budget costs for the Utilities Department. Provides input and aids in executing OBC routes. Covers the Utilities department for weekend call rotation. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Experience – 5+ years related experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in heavy industry. Pulp and Paper industry experience is preferred. Education – High school diploma, General Education Diploma (GED) or equivalent. Competencies Ability to apply basic principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of practical problems. Working knowledge of fundamental math as it applies to the job. Working knowledge of steam distribution systems up to 1500 psig, industrial boiler operation, boiler water treatment, steam turbine/generator operation, DCS and PLC systems (programming not required), and other Utilities support equipment/systems. Working knowledge of process control instrumentation (pH, conductivity, flow, pressure, level, temperature, etc.). Strong leadership skills. Results focused with demonstrated success in execution. Effective communication skills needed both internally and externally. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from operators, maintenance, or supervision. Computer Skills MS Office Suite and MS Project proficiency. SAP familiarity Work Environment Varies from office setting to loud, hot & humid manufacturing environment both indoor and outdoor. Role requires the ability to travel throughout the facility while using stairs, ladders, elevated platforms, and elevators. Normal vision or vision corrected to near normal is essential.
