Job Description: We are seeking an experienced and dynamic professional to join our management team as Deputy Head of Back Office. This critical role will oversee our comprehensive back-office operations including settlement and clearing, payment operations, and syndicate operations. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and risk management across all back-office functions. Key Responsibilities: Clearing & Settlement Oversee daily settlement and clearing operations for equity, fixed income, and derivative products Ensure timely and accurate processing of DVP (Delivery versus Payment) and FOP (Free of Payment) settlements Implement and maintain settlement risk controls and contingency procedures Syndicate Operations Coordinate syndicate operations for equity and debt capital market transactions across IPO, block and placement Coordinate with underwriters, bookrunners, and syndicate members, manage IPO subscription processing, e.g., placee list coordination, placement letter, allotment, and refund procedures Oversee bond syndicate operations including allocation, and settlement Payment Operations: Manage multi-currency payment processing across HKD, CNY, USD, and other major currencies Oversee payment reconciliation and exception handling Ensure compliance with AML/CFT regulations and sanctions screening requirements Operation Excellence & Projects Drive initiatives to improve processes, eliminate manual effort, mitigate risks while promoting efficiency Compile BRD for IT to enable process and system enhancement for BO team Establish and monitor KPIs for operation efficiency and accuracy Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration or related disciplines Minimum 7 years of operations experience in sell side brokerage business Experienced in settlements of securities, fixed Incomes, Listed and OTC derivatives and Structure Products. Experience with syndicate operations and capital market transactions Hands on experience in clearing systems such as CCASS, Clearstream and Euroclear Solid understanding of payment systems including SWIFT, RTGS and local clearing systems Able to work independently and willing to work overtime / on public holidays Perform other ad-hoc projects and assignments as required Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese (Cantonese & Mandarin) About Us Huatai International Financial Holdings Company Limited (“Huatai International” or “the Company”), is the only overseas wholly-owned or controlled subsidiary of Huatai Securities.
