About The Role

This position is responsible for the delivery of TRG’s strategic and operational objectives with our delivery operations. The position will manage, coordinate, develop and coach the team to ensure the delivery of high quality service and experience achieving the goal of ‘on time every time’. The position will implement productivity, quality, operational and customer service standards and manage the team to continually achieve these standards.

You will be responsible for managing the operational division including overseeing the scheduling and workloads, training and evaluating the performance standards of both the team and individuals.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include

- Manage day-to-day operations including delivery plan, freight movement, delivery workloads, forecast resource requirements and oversee operations division.

- Collaborate cross-departmentally to align operations with organisational objectives.

- Report on operational efficiency and quality standards.

- Uphold WHS guidelines, Chain of Responsibility and NHVR and enforce compliance.

- Ensure all incidents and hazards are reported and investigated in a timely manner.

- Monitor employee and team performance, offering coaching, training, and feedback for improvement.Oversee staffing plans, recruitment, and training.

- Communicate  job expectations while providing coaching and assistance to the team.

Core deliverables:

- Manage, maintain and drive a secure workplace that adheres to all CoR, WHS and NHVR policies and procedures.

- Proactive management and coaching of the operations team to exceed customer delivery expectations and meet delivery KPI’s.

- Implement performance feedback mechanisms for direct reports including conducting and completing performance conversations.

- Develop training plans for team members.

About You:

We are looking for someone who has experience leading the operations of a transport and logistics business, or similar. This role will suit someone who is not precious, is happy to get their hands dirty and can come in with fresh eyes on how to assist in developing the team and business to be more effective and efficient.

- Experience of 5+ years experience in a fast-paced, complex operations role.

- Demonstrated experience with people management.

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
