Alethiomics Ltd is a discovery stage biotech company harnessing the power of single cell multi-omic technology to discover and develop life changing treatments for patients with blood cancer. A spin-out from the University of Oxford, Alethiomics was co-founded in 2021 by Prof. Adam Mead and Prof Bethan Psaila, both academic clinicians and expert haematologists. The company is supported by life sciences investor Oxford Science Enterprises. REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Extensive background in facilities and lab management, ideally in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry.
  • A certified Health & Safety qualification (e.g., IOSH, NEBOSH, or similar).
  • Strong experience managing health and safety within laboratory environments, with in-depth knowledge of employer responsibilities and UK legislation.
  • Experience managing maintenance services, coordinating building projects, and handling landlord relations.
  • Good IT proficiency.
  • Knowledgeable in equipment calibration and maintenance, including commissioning, testing, troubleshooting, and repairs.
  • Comfortable working independently with a hands-on approach (initially as a sole role, with potential for future recruitment of a lab technician).
  • A flexible, proactive attitude with the ability to manage stakeholders at all levels and stay composed under pressure.
  • Capable of prioritising tasks and managing multiple projects, requests, and requirements simultaneously.
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills.

The Operations Manager will oversee facilities and lab operations, including building management, health & safety tasks, routine maintenance, and contractor coordination. This role is hands-on and on-site, requiring strong organisational skills and the ability to manage both internal and external stakeholders to maintain a safe and efficient working environment for the team.
We are looking for an individual who excels in process development and problem-solving, especially under pressure. You should be able to build relationships quickly and take pride in delivering a high-quality service to the business. Experience of working in a laboratory setting, preferably within the biotechnology sector, is essential.
