Our Client is a respected, community-focused transportation company in Navan, Ottawa, is seeking a Bilingual Operations Manager to join their team and support both administrative operations and frontline logistics.
As the Operations Manager, you will oversee the safe and efficient daily operations of a fleet of 120 drivers, ensuring compliance with company standards, school board requirements, and provincial transportation regulations. You will manage dispatch, liaise with maintenance, oversee charters and field trips, and act as the key contact for schools, parents, and clients. This is a leadership position requiring strong problem-solving, customer service, and communication skills, as well as the ability to respond calmly and decisively to issues in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a fleet of 120 drivers, overseeing dispatch and daily route assignments.
  • Act as the primary liaison with schools, parents, and clients regarding service delivery and concerns.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and provincial/federal transportation regulations.
  • Coordinate between dispatch and maintenance teams to ensure seamless operational flow.
  • Oversee and expand charter and field trip services, building relationships with clients and generating new business.
  • Handle conflict resolution, apply employee discipline when necessary, and develop corrective action plans.
  • Provide customer service and resolve stakeholder complaints quickly and professionally.
  • Be available 24/7 in case of emergencies (e.g., driver absences, late-night charters, or urgent operational issues).

  • Tech-savvy, with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Experience managing social media presence is considered an asset.
  • Previous experience in transportation operations, logistics, or frontline staff management is strongly preferred.
