Description

YOUR ROLE

Reporting to the Site Manager and based at our Kemps Creek NSW facility, the Operations Manager leads warehouse operations for a major customer contract within our Contract Logistics division, with a primary focus on one of CEVA's key FMCG customers.

You'll oversee daily operations while leading a team of supervisors, inventory controllers, administrators and a large warehouse workforce of storepersons, ensuring safe, efficient and high-performing outcomes.

The role is responsible for delivering strong customer service and operational results while contributing to the contract P&L through effective budget management, cost control and operational efficiency.

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?

Specifically, you will:

  • Lead daily warehouse operations to deliver safe, efficient and high-performing outcomes in line with customer and contractual requirements
  • Provide leadership and direction to supervisors, inventory controllers, administrators and warehouse storepersons
  • Plan and manage labour, resources and operational priorities to achieve service, productivity and cost targets
  • Drive operational performance through KPI management, reporting and structured performance reviews
  • Maintain a strong customer relationship and act as the escalation point for operational issues and service exceptions
  • Ensure high levels of inventory accuracy through effective cycle counting, stock management and process discipline
  • Lead safety, quality and compliance activities, including incident investigations, risk assessments, toolbox talks and adherence to operational procedures
  • Promote lean thinking and continuous improvement initiatives to improve productivity, quality and operational efficiency
  • Contribute to the contract P&L through effective budget management, cost control and optimisation of operational resources
  • Maintain effective use of warehouse systems and operational reporting tools to support visibility and decision-making.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

Our ideal candidate will be an experienced logistics and supply chain leader with strong experience managing warehouse operations and frontline teams, underpinned by a vocational or tertiary qualification in logistics and supply chain, warehousing, operations management or a related discipline.

  • Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control and operational best practice
  • Commercial acumen, including experience managing operational budgets and contributing to contract P&L outcomes
  • A sound applied understanding of Enterprise Agreements and/or Awards within an operational workforce environment
  • Strong customer and stakeholder management capability, ideally gained within a 3PL, contract logistics or similarly customer-focused environment
  • A strong safety and quality mindset, with exposure to food safety standards, HACCP or similar quality management requirements highly regarded.

In addition to providing proof of work rights and suitable professional referees, progressed candidates will be required to undergo a medical assessment and national police check
