The Opportunity

Reporting to the Branch Manager, the Operations Manager is responsible for leading safe, efficient, and customer-focused site operations at Wingfield. You'll drive operational performance, optimise resources, lead a high-performing team, and ensure compliance while supporting continued business growth.

This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on site performance, team development, and customer satisfaction within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities Include

  • Provide visible safety leadership and ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations, and company standards.
  • Lead, coach, and develop operational teams to foster a high-performing, engaged, and safety-focused culture.
  • Drive operational efficiency, productivity, and service excellence to achieve business objectives and customer expectations.
  • Manage departmental budgets, cost controls, and resource allocation to optimise financial performance.
  • Collaborate with sales and commercial teams to support tender submissions, customer solutions, and business growth opportunities.
  • Act as the primary operational contact for customer enquiries, issue resolution, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Oversee equipment utilisation, operational planning, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance site performance.

 

About You

You are an experienced operational leader who thrives in fast-paced environments and leads by example. With a strong focus on safety, performance, and customer outcomes, you know how to engage teams, solve problems, and deliver results while driving continuous improvement.

Your Experience and capabilities

  • Proven experience in an Operations Manager or similar leadership role within transport, logistics, manufacturing, waste management, or an industrial environment.
  • Demonstrated track record of leading and developing operational teams while building a strong safety culture.
  • Experience managing operational budgets, cost control initiatives, and performance improvement programs.
  • Strong knowledge of safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance requirements, including hazardous materials or dangerous goods operations.
  • Ability to drive operational efficiencies, optimise resources, and improve service delivery against key performance targets.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and customer relationship skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Strong planning, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities, with the ability to prioritise and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in chemical waste, manufacturing, or hazardous logistics.
