JOB SUMMARY

The Operations Manager plays a key leadership role in supporting the General Manager in day-to-day hotel operations. This position is responsible for ensuring excellence across guest services and food & beverage operations, with a focus on The Bistro and banquet/event space. The Operations Manager fosters a culture of service, teamwork, and accountability, while driving operational efficiency and adherence to Marriott brand standards.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+ years of hotel operations experience (front desk, F&B, or supervisory role preferred).
  • Prior Marriott or branded hotel experience strongly preferred.
  • Prior restaurant or food service management strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of FOSSE/PMS, POS (TOAST), and Birchstreet purchasing systems preferred.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Food safety and/or alcohol service certifications (ServSafe, TIPS) preferred.

Responsibilities
  • Partner with the Food & Beverage leadership team and Sales Manager to ensure efficient operation of The Bistro, bar, grab-and-go market, and banquet space.
  • Monitor guest satisfaction in all F&B outlets; ensure issues are resolved promptly and service standards are consistently met.
  • Assist with inventory management, ordering, and cost control for food, beverage, and supplies.
  • Support the execution of banquets and events (up to 40 guests), ensuring accurate setup, staffing, and guest satisfaction.
  • Lead training programs for associates, reinforcing Marriott standards, safety, and service culture.
  • Help manage labor scheduling to ensure efficiency while maintaining service quality.
  • Assist the General Manager in overseeing daily hotel operations across front desk, food & beverage, and other departments as assigned.
  • Act as Manager on Duty (MOD) in the absence of the GM, handling guest issues and ensuring smooth operations.
  • Support compliance with Marriott brand standards, local laws, and safety regulations.
  • Participate in and support property budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis.
  • Work closely with the General Manager to implement property-wide initiatives and meet financial and service goals.
  • Support the Food & Beverage Manager in daily operations, special promotions, and staff supervision.
  • Conduct property walk-throughs to ensure guest areas and Bistro outlets are clean, safe, and brand compliant.
  • Monitor and respond to Guest Satisfaction Survey (GSS) feedback, working with teams to implement improvements.
  • Ensure consistent delivery of Courtyard’s service promise: “Friendly, Attentive, and Efficient.”
