Description
Company Description Dogs 4 Rescue is the UK’s pioneering kennel-free rescue leading the rescue revolution. From humble beginnings to a multi-site operation we are leading change in our industry running a model which is far more complex than a traditional kennels. Job Description Experienced in animal welfare and leading a dedicated team hour-by-hour? We are looking for an experienced Operations Manager to join our kennel-free rescue. This is predominantly a people based role at our Irlam site, but you will be around packs of dogs, so you must feel comfortable with that. We are in a period of operational growing pains with more expansion on the horizon. We have some amazing people in the business but it is a complex, ever changing dynamic with the dogs. With the right person in this role our Irlam site could move to a whole different level of brilliance, our team would feel more supported, and we could make every 5 minutes matter for the dogs. Our visionary founder has a proven track record, changing the lives of nearly 3,000 dogs. She knows what works historically but needs a right-hand person who can help us becomes centres of excellence operationally, starting at our Irlam site. You will draw on her vision, expertise and ideas, as well as consulting with our Centre Manager and dog handlers who understand the day-to-day ‘as is’ and can offer insights into what might work. You will have reviewed processes and delivered improvements whilst living and breathing cultural values to embed them at all levels – naturally bringing the dog handling team along as we improve processes and efficiencies. There is no room for egos at our rescue – we are all about what is best for the dogs. We need an objective, focused individual that will not let the emotional rollercoaster of rescue life affect the day-to-day. You will lift the team, bring energy and purpose. We need someone with resilience and the ability to be strong, driven people manager with experience in rescue. Salary 33k to 38k Must drive and have own transport. May include some weekend work.
Responsibilities
The Operations Manager will oversee the daily operations at the Irlam site, ensuring the team is supported and processes are improved. This role requires a focus on animal welfare and the ability to manage a dynamic environment with both staff and dogs.
