Operations Manager

About this role

This position is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the day-to-day operations of the assigned office or region, ensuring the seamless delivery and efficiency of products and services. The role involves strategically maximizing productivity, maintaining high-quality standards, and effectively allocating resources to meet organizational goals. Additionally, the Operations Manager will analyze operational processes, identify areas for improvement, and implement innovative solutions to drive continuous growth. By fostering collaboration across departments and managing key performance indicators, this position ultimately aims to enhance the company’s profitability, operational excellence, and long-term success in a competitive market.

Factory & Production Management

• Oversee all daily workshop operations including carpentry, veneer and laminate application, paint and lacquer finishing, and hardware fitting
• Develop and manage production schedules aligned with project timelines and client delivery commitments
• Coordinate workflow between production teams (cutting, assembly, finishing) to eliminate bottlenecks and ensure smooth job progression
• Allocate manpower, machinery, and materials efficiently across active production orders
• Monitor capacity utilization and proactively flag scheduling conflicts or overload risks to the General Manager
• Participate in weekly production planning meetings and align factory output with the company's project pipeline

Warehouse & Materials Management

• Oversee the receipt, storage, and issuance of raw materials including solid wood, medium-density plywood, veneers and consumables
• Ensure accurate inventory records are maintained and that stock levels support uninterrupted production
• Manage the dispatch of finished joinery items to project sites, coordinating with site teams and logistics
• Implement proper warehousing standards including organized zoning, labelling, and first-in first-out stock rotation
• Conduct or oversee regular stock counts and resolve discrepancies promptly

Quality Control & Technical Standards

• Ensure all joinery items meet Dome's internal quality standards and project specifications prior to dispatch
• Oversee surface prep, finishing, and fit-out tolerances across production batches
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective action when defects, rework, or client rejections occur
• Drive a culture of workmanship consistency — reducing rework rates and ensuring first-pass quality
• Liaise with project managers and site supervisors to address any installation-stage quality issues traced back to factory production.

Project Delivery Coordination

• Act as the operational link between the factory and active project sites, coordinating delivery sequencing, installation readiness, and scope changes
• Track production progress against project milestones and communicate proactively with Project Managers on delivery timelines
• Manage changes to production orders arising from design revisions, site conditions, or client requests
• Ensure factory teams are briefed on project-specific requirements including material specs, finishes, dimensions and phasing.

Team Leadership & Development

• Lead, coach, and manage Supervisors, production leads, warehouse staff, and quality control personnel.
• Set clear daily and weekly targets, communicate priorities, and hold teams accountable for performance.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing skill development of factory staff.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide structured feedback.
• Build a workplace culture anchored in quality, safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Health, Safety & Work Environment

• Enforce a strong safety culture across all factory and warehouse areas
• Ensure correct use of protective equipment and full compliance with machinery safety protocols at all times
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-structured production floor
• Report and investigate any incidents or near-misses and implement preventive measures

Continuous Improvement & Reporting

• Identify and implement process improvements that increase factory efficiency, reduce waste, and improve throughput
• Standardize production processes and document clear operating procedures for key operations
• Provide the General Manager with regular operational reports covering production output, delivery performance, quality metrics, and workforce issues
• Support the adoption of systems and tools that improve production visibility and planning accuracy
