About the Program The Mental Health and Wellbeing Locals are an important part of Victoria’s reformed mental health and wellbeing system. The Victorian Government has committed to establishing 50 Mental Health and Wellbeing Locals. In East Gippsland, Wellways, Latrobe Regional Health and Gippsland Lakes Complete Health are working together to offer an easy way to get treatment, care and support for people aged 26 years and over who are experiencing mental health concerns, including people with cooccurring alcohol and drug treatment and care needs and their family, carers, and supporters. Mental Health and Wellbeing Locals are free, voluntary, and easy to access, with no referral required. Importantly, these new services will be delivered on the basis of ‘how can we help?’ and a ‘no wrong door’ approach, focused on giving choice and control over how the consumer wants to receive support. About this Opportunity This is a key senior leadership role with the opportunity to shape how mental health and wellbeing services are delivered across the East Gippsland community. You’ll lead a large, multidisciplinary team focused on delivering holistic, person-centred care that truly makes a difference for consumers, carers, and the wider community. Your ability to inspire, support, and motivate others will be essential as you guide your team through growth and change. You'll bring strong coaching and leadership skills to build a collaborative, values-driven culture from the ground up. As this is a newly established operation, we’re looking for someone who’s agile, proactive, and future focused ready to balance day to day operations with strategic direction and people leadership. To be successful in this role: Bachelor of Allied Health, Nursing or Masters of Psychology or other relevant qualification Relevant professional registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency 5+ years mental health management experience Current valid Driver’s License and the ability to undertake travel for the role Current Working with Children Check and NDIS Workers Screening Check Right to Work within Australia Satisfactory National Police Records Check (less than 12 months old) Willingness to complete NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate About Us Wellways connects people, strengthens families, and transforms communities for individuals of all ages experiencing disabilities or challenges to their social and emotional wellbeing.
