Job Title: Bars Operations Manager
Event: Christmas in Cambridge
Location: Cambridge, UK
Contract: Seasonal – October 2025 to January 2026 (Exact dates TBC)
Reports to: Seventa Events Senior Team

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven experience managing multiple bars, venues, or large-scale event F&B operations.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience in recruitment, staff training, and rota management.
  • In-depth knowledge of licensing law, alcohol compliance, and health & safety regulations.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with experience in stock control and cost management.
  • Confident communicator, able to liaise effectively with security, contractors, and event stakeholders.
  • Ability to stay calm and decisive under pressure in a fast-paced live event environment.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and hands-on, with willingness to work evenings, weekends, and peak seasonal hours.
  • First Aid and Health & Safety qualifications desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

ROLE OVERVIEW:

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Bars General Manager to lead and oversee the operation of five bars at the Christmas in Cambridge 2025 event: The Alpine Lodge Bar, The Curling Lanes, The Triple TiPi, The Skate Speed Bar, and The Lodge Deck Speed Bar.
You will be responsible for the smooth running of all bar operations, including compliance with licensing regulations, stock management, labour planning, recruitment, and ensuring an exceptional customer experience across the site. This is a hands-on leadership role that requires excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
You will act as the key on-site decision maker for bar operations, liaising closely with event security, ice rink operators, site management, and Seventa Events senior team to ensure safe, efficient, and profitable delivery of the bars throughout the season.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIESBAR OPERATIONS & COMPLIANCE

  • Lead the management of all five bars, ensuring consistent high standards of service, presentation, and customer experience.
  • Ensure compliance with all premises licence requirements, Challenge 25, health & safety, and food & beverage regulations.
  • Maintain strong working knowledge of site-wide policies and ensure all bar staff are fully trained and compliant.
