Description

OVERVIEW:

The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing and monitoring activities of staff and optimizing day-to-day transportation operations, warehouse and dispatch department to ensure efficiency, productivity, and high performance across the organization. This role involves leading teams, driving operational strategies, managing cross-departmental collaboration, and improving systems and processes to support the company’s growth and strategic goals.
This candidate must have a strong understanding of MTO regulation and be able to promote safety on a daily basis. The OM must also have strong organizational and communication skills. They will be responsible for developing training programs and writing reports that are intended to document whether the transportation & warehouse safety programs are successful and to make recommendations about what kinds of changes can be made The OM is expected to work in a professional, courteous manner and establish excellent working relationships with customers, clients and fellow employees.

OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

o Fluent oral and written English; ability to speak another language an asset.
o In-depth knowledge and experience in logistics terminology, procedures, setup, and office administration
o Leadership qualities to provide support and direction to other staff.
o Demonstrated ability to establish excellent client/customer/public relations.
o Ability to maintain confidentiality and privacy pursuant to company policies.
o Must be organized, neat and efficient.
o Must show initiative, pleasant manner, positive attitude and willingness to work with a variety of stakeholders.
o Ability to maintain outgoing, friendly attitude with customers, staff, and stakeholders.
o Ability to work with interruptions and to manage multiple priorities.
o Demonstrated ability to effectively function as a team member and ability to establish excellent working relationships with the fellow Staff.
o Proven flexibility, initiative, strong organizational and problem solving/decision making skills.
o Maintain an acceptable attendance record.
o Experience with regulatory agencies required (MTO, etc)
