Description The Operations Manager – Aggregates oversees all aspects of production, quality, safety, and efficiency across one or more aggregate mining, processing, and distribution sites. This role ensures operations meet or exceed performance targets while maintaining compliance with environmental regulations, safety standards, and company policies. The Operations Manager leads site teams to optimize productivity, control costs, and deliver high-quality products to customers on time. Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions) Lead day-to-day operations for assigned aggregate facilities, including production scheduling, equipment utilization, and workforce management. Develop and implement operational plans to meet production, quality, and cost objectives. Ensure compliance with MSHA, OSHA, environmental, and other applicable regulations. Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols; champion a safety-first culture across all sites. Oversee preventive maintenance programs for all production equipment to minimize downtime. Analyze operational data to identify areas for efficiency improvements and cost savings. Manage budgets, control operational expenses, and track key performance indicators (KPIs). Collaborate with sales, logistics, and quality control teams to ensure customer requirements are met. Lead, coach, and develop supervisors, equipment operators, and other operational staff. Oversee quality control processes to maintain material specifications and customer satisfaction. Drive continuous improvement initiatives for process optimization and resource utilization. Maintain strong relationships with vendors, contractors, and regulatory agencies. Regular and predictable attendance at assigned times is required. Other duties as may be assigned. Education/Experience Minimum of a high school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Minimum 5 years of experience in aggregate, mining, or heavy industrial operations with at least 3 years in a supervisory or management role. Strong knowledge of aggregate production processes, equipment, and industry regulations. Knowledge/Skill Requirements Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills. Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft products (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook). Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate. Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality. Ability to analyze issues independently. Ability to perform under deadline pressure. Excellent analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving skills. Must possess knowledge of Company policies and procedures, including safety. Must consistently produce an efficient, accurate work product. Work Requirements Must have a current and valid driver’s license. Must pass post-offer employment drug testing, background check, and motor vehicle record (MVR) review. Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the general public at all times. Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers and/or supervisors with other duties as required. Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required. Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary. Individuals are required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as stated by OSHA and/or MSHA.
