Description This position is distribution-focused and is not a manufacturing or plant operations role. The Operations Manager is a key member of HESCO’s leadership team, responsible for overseeing operational performance across distribution, warehouse, account support, and purchasing functions. This individual will drive operational excellence, implement measurable performance standards, and ensure strategic alignment between daily operations and HESCO’s long-term business goals. The ideal candidate is a results-driven leader with deep experience in industrial distribution, inventory control, and supply chain strategy—capable of transforming operational data into actionable insights that improve efficiency, customer satisfaction, and profitability. Requirements Key Responsibilities Leadership & Strategy Provide strategic oversight for distribution, warehouse, account support, purchasing, and logistics operations. Develop and execute short- and long-term operational strategies that support customer service excellence, inventory performance, and financial goals. Establish and monitor KPIs across warehouse execution and account support, including order accuracy, response time, fill rate, and on-time delivery. Partner with executive leadership to align operational priorities with growth objectives and customer expectations. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement across all operational teams. Warehouse & Distribution Oversee all warehouse operations including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping. Ensure safe, accurate, and timely fulfillment of customer orders. Optimize warehouse layout, workflows, and labor planning to improve throughput and service levels. Leverage ERP data (Infor SX.e / CSD) to identify bottlenecks and improve fulfillment performance. Account Support Operations Lead and support the Account Support team, ensuring timely, accurate processing of customer orders, quotes, returns, and issue resolution. Establish clear workflows and service standards between Account Support, Sales, Purchasing, and Warehouse teams. Monitor and improve KPIs such as order accuracy, response time, backlog, and customer issue resolution. Partner with Sales to ensure customer expectations are aligned with inventory availability and fulfillment capabilities. Drive consistency, accountability, and cross-training within the Account Support function. Purchasing & Supplier Management Lead purchasing activities to ensure product availability, cost control, and supplier reliability. Develop strategic supplier relationships and negotiate pricing, contracts, and rebate programs. Align purchasing strategies with customer demand, sales forecasts, and account support needs. Inventory Control Oversee inventory accuracy, availability, and optimization. Track and improve KPIs including turns, fill rate, excess/obsolete inventory, and carrying costs. Partner with Account Support and Sales to proactively address supply constraints and customer commitments. Process Optimization & Systems Improve workflow integration between Account Support, Sales, Warehouse, Purchasing, IT, and Finance. Partner with IT to enhance ERP utilization, reporting, and data visibility. Develop and maintain SOPs for both warehouse and account support processes to ensure consistency and scalability. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Supply Chain, or a related field. Minimum 7 years of experience in distribution or industrial operations, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role. Strong understanding of ERP systems (Infor SX.e or CloudSuite preferred) and data-driven decision-making. Exceptional leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
