Description Job Objective: This position is responsible for management of all operations/activities at Five Star Cooperative’s Joice location. Responsible for servicing customers, maintaining existing customer’s business, and obtaining new customer’s business. Be a resource for customers to come to for industry information. Supervises all operations employees to achieve the objectives needed. Responsible for inventory control of all products/commodities for proper quantity and quality. The incumbent will be responsible for monitoring the location’s safety and preventative maintenance program. Incumbent will also schedule daily workflow, assist with hiring, performance management, and supervision of the location. This position will help with setting, monitoring, and achieving strategic company and location goals. This person will attend management meetings/training as directed; and works to achieve the objectives of the cooperative. At times, incumbent may direct assigned fleet vehicles. The incumbent will be expected to assist other locations and departments assigned by management. Will communicate availability regularly and assist with projects as needed. Essential Tasks: Determines work tasks that need to be completed and instructs employees to complete needed tasks in a safe manner. Actively works to acquire new customer’s business and maintains existing customer base. Involved in all aspects of grower relations, including customer service and conflict resolution. Manages the operational function and team at assigned location. Leads facility in improving efficiency, developing employees, and offering premier customer service. Managing all personnel at Joice location including assisting with hiring, performance reviews, disciplinary action, training, coaching, and rewarding employees (within company guidelines). Collaborates with Agronomy Operations Manager on location budget and asset needs. Collaborates with Agronomy Operations Manager and other locations to improve business efficiencies. Receives dry and liquid fertilizer at Joice location. Receives bulk and packaged chemicals into the warehouse. Receives deliveries of seed into the warehouse. Maintains inventory and distribution of products. Operates and maintains agronomy load-out facilities. Collaborates with Central Dispatch to load trucks in order of deliveries. Helps load and deliver seed to farmers. Operates seed treatment equipment as farmers pick up seed. Maintains a clean, neat, well maintained location appearance both inside and out. Maintenance and repair of all facilities, equipment, and vehicles. Assures operation of equipment is done safely and, in a manner to assure equipment/vehicles is operated under ideal conditions (not recklessly). Maintain good working relationship with customer and employees. Exhibits integrity and professional attitude. Maintains control of all inventory products/commodities both in quantity and quality. Follows regulatory guidelines for all areas Requirements Education: High school diploma or equivalent; fluent reading, writing, and speaking the English language Experience: Experience in the daily operations of an agronomy facility preferred Leadership and management experience preferred Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills necessary Computer skills required – Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel Good customer service skills and approach necessary License, Certificate or Registration: Valid Driver’s License required; Class A CDL or the ability to obtain preferred Basic Skills: Speaking, Writing, Reading Comprehension, Listening, Monitoring, Judgment and Decision Making, Time Management
