An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Operations Manager to join a well-established and growing steel manufacturing business based in Toowoomba. This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of a busy manufacturing facility. You'll lead production, scheduling, logistics, and customer delivery while developing a high-performing leadership team and driving continuous improvement across the business. We're looking for a hands-on operational leader who enjoys building strong teams, improving processes, and delivering outstanding customer outcomes in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. About the Role Reporting to senior leadership, you will take ownership of manufacturing operations, ensuring production schedules, quality standards, safety, and customer commitments are consistently achieved. You'll play a key role in developing frontline leaders, improving operational performance, and creating a culture focused on accountability, safety, and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities Lead the day-to-day operations of a busy steel manufacturing facility Develop and mentor supervisors and team leaders to build leadership capability Oversee production planning and scheduling to ensure customer deadlines are achieved Drive operational efficiency, productivity, and continuous improvement initiatives Promote and maintain a strong safety-first culture across all departments Manage manufacturing, dispatch, and warehouse operations to maximise performance Monitor production KPIs and implement improvement strategies Work closely with sales, customer service, and supply chain teams to optimise workflow Manage labour planning and resource allocation to meet changing business demands Ensure high standards of product quality, customer service, and operational excellence Contribute to business planning, budgeting, and overall site performance About You Proven experience as an Operations Manager, Manufacturing Manager, Production Manager, or similar leadership role Strong production scheduling and operational planning experience Demonstrated success developing supervisors, team leaders, and high-performing teams Strong commercial acumen with experience managing KPIs and operational performance Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills A hands-on leadership style with a focus on coaching and accountability Strong problem-solving skills and commitment to continuous improvement Passion for building a positive, safe, and engaged workplace culture What's on Offer?
