THE OPPORTUNITY:

Leeds & Grenville Interval House (LGIH) is seeking a trusted, results-driven Operations Manager to join our team. Reporting to the Executive Director, you’ll play a key leadership role in shaping and delivering our vital services while fostering collaboration within our community and beyond.

WHO WE ARE:

Leeds Grenville Interval House is a non-profit, charitable organization established in 1983 to provide accommodation, supportive counseling and a 24-hour crisis and support line for women in distress. The organization is funded by the Ontario Government, Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services, and some grant programs that support women and children within the United Counties of Leeds Grenville. We offer accommodation, supportive counseling and a crisis and support line for women in distress and offer support in the following areas:

  • a 24-hour Crisis and Support Line
  • short-term residential shelter for women and their children
  • transitional and outreach services for women
  • children’s witness program
  • group programs

Responsibilities

As the Operations Manager, these are the five key areas of the role to support our mandate:

Leadership and Staff Management

  • Supervising and evaluating the staff of all LGIH programs
  • Training staff.
  • Managing recruitment, training, evaluation, and scheduling of volunteers.
  • Facilitating conflict resolution among staff and clients.
  • Ensuring proper input of client records and maintaining statistics.
  • Regular collaborative meetings with Team Leads.
  • Active participation in staff meetings.
  • Assisting in an on-call rotation.
  • Acting as Executive Director in her absence.

Operations and Program Coordination

  • Managing referrals.
  • Staff scheduling.
  • Providing back-up to Crisis Intervention Workers when the shelter is busy.
  • Managing in-shelter operations, including assigning case managers, establishing client requirements and programming, and overseeing the implementation of changes.
  • Managing projects involving LGIH facilities and property.
  • Ensuring that client supplies are purchased economically while maintaining quality.

Compliance, Systems, and Data Management

  • Overseeing and troubleshooting the database W.I.S.H.
  • Ensuring compliance with legislation for accessibility and safety.
  • Keeping informed of developments and changes in issues that impact our clients.

Community Engagement and Partnerships

  • Communicating and collaborating with key community partners, such as housing organizations, landlords, and mental health and addictions organizations.
  • Assisting staff in navigating complex systems with clients.
  • Sitting on internal and community committees.
  • Provide oversight of public education efforts and facilitate them when required.

Strategic Development and Organizational Growth

  • Assisting LGIH in program growth, which will lead to expanded duties.
  • Other duties as required.
