About MAOMAO

MAOMAO is a rapidly growing online supermarket for Asian groceries. We combine e-commerce with content, community, and social commerce, and now reach more than 200,000 people via TikTok and Instagram.

We operate our own warehouse in Berlin, work with European distributors and suppliers directly from Asia, develop our own products and sell via our online shop and social commerce channels.

As we grow, our operations also become more demanding.

Therefore, we are looking for an Operations Manager (m/f/d) who will take the next step in our development with us – from Inventory and Procurement to Supply Chain and Warehouse & Fulfillment.

We are not looking for a pure coordinator.

We are looking for someone who already has relevant operational experience, wants to take on responsibility and is keen not only to manage processes, but to improve them.

Tasks

Your mission:

Your task is to ensure that our operations reliably enable MAOMAO's growth.

The right products must be available in the right quantity at the right time. Inventory must be managed economically. Suppliers and imports must function smoothly. Our warehouse must operate reliably and efficiently.

And when we plan a major product launch, campaign, or livestream, our operations need to be prepared.

You don't just follow existing processes. You question them, improve them, and take responsibility for making them work.

Your areas of responsibility:

Inventory & Demand Planning

You will further develop our inventory and planning logic and increasingly control it based on data:

  • Inventory ranges, safety stocks and reorder points
  • Out-of-stock rate and product availability
  • Sell through and inventory turn
  • Slow movers and overstocks
  • Purchase quantities and order times
  • Best before date, copies and inventory accuracy
  • Inventories and cycle counting

In doing so, you keep one of the most important conflicting objectives of our business in mind:

High product availability – without tying up unnecessary capital in the warehouse.

Procurement & Supplier Management

Together with our purchasing department, you will further develop our purchasing and supplier management.

You:

  • plans needs and orders
  • You manage suppliers and open orders
  • You analyze purchase prices, terms and conditions, and delivery performance.
  • You evaluate MOQs, lead times, and order quantities
  • You identify alternative sources of supply for important products.
  • provides support during price and terms negotiations
  • You identify delivery and availability risks early on.

When making major purchasing decisions, you don't just think about whether we can order goods, but also whether quantity, demand, stock, margin and risk fit together economically.
