Job Title: Operations Manager Location: Western Area Juvenile Crisis & Assessment Center, Asheville, NC Salary: $50,000+ (Depending on Education and Experience) ---------------------------------------- About Us: Operated by Methodist Home for Children in partnership with the Department of Public Safety, the Western Area Juvenile Crisis and Assessment Center provides a comprehensive juvenile assessment in a residential setting. Our goal is to match youth, aged 10 to 17 and classified as Level II offenders, with the most appropriate services in their communities. We offer a supportive environment for boys and girls with histories of mental illness, neglect, trauma, or substance abuse. Referred by juvenile court counselors, they stay with us for 14 to 30 days for comprehensive testing and observation. Under the supervision of a licensed psychologist and licensed clinical case managers, they leave with a tailored plan of care designed to map out their strengths, areas of focus, goals, and community services that can assist them. ---------------------------------------- Job Description: The Western Area Juvenile Crisis & Assessment Center is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join our team. As the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the on-site administration and supervision of program operations. Your role will involve overseeing the Center's programmatic functions, managing the budget, leading the staff, ensuring the delivery of program services, coordinating volunteers, and fostering positive relationships with service professionals, clients, their families, neighbors of the home, and the general community. Responsibilities: * Supervise and manage child-care workers, focusing on direct care experience with adolescents and their families. * Oversee program operations, ensuring compliance with regulations and best practices in juvenile justice. * Manage the Center's budget, including financial planning and reporting. * Coordinate with licensed professionals to deliver high-quality program services. * Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients, families, volunteers, and community stakeholders. * Lead staff training and development initiatives to maintain a skilled and motivated team. * Implement policies and procedures to ensure a safe and supportive environment for residents. * Collaborate with Methodist Home for Children and the Department of Public Safety for program enhancements and community engagement. Qualifications: * Extensive supervisory experience with child-care workers, particularly in direct care with adolescents and families. * Background in and knowledge of juvenile justice systems and practices is highly preferred. * Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college is required; a degree in a human services field is preferred. Master's degree is highly desired. * Strong leadership and organizational skills with a passion for serving vulnerable youth. * Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. * Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
