OPERATIONS MANAGER
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Operations Manager to lead our Operations Department. This position is responsible for overseeing day-to-day field operations, driving productivity and efficiency, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations, and leading a team to deliver “Clean, Dependable Service” to our customers.
You will be the backbone of our operational excellence, providing leadership to drivers, mechanics, and field personnel, and working collaboratively with dispatch, finance, and customer service teams to ensure service expectations and business goals are consistently met or exceeded.
QUALIFICATIONS
· 3+ years of experience in an operations leadership role, preferably in logistics, sanitation, or field services.
· Proven experience managing a diverse team and leading safety-focused operations.
· Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
· Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
· Familiarity with provincial legislation regarding safety and transportation.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and reporting tools.
· Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on, service-driven environment.

· Lead and coach a high-performing operations team, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and customer service.
· Conduct daily field observations to assess and improve staff performance and adherence to safety standards.
· Chair or co-chair bi-weekly driver meetings and safety meetings.
· Ensure compliance with all Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental, Transportation, and WorkSafe BC regulations.
· Collaborate with Dispatch and Route Specialist to optimize routing, improve operational efficiencies, and reduce overtime.
· Manage staffing for the department, including interviewing, hiring, onboarding, training, and conducting regular performance reviews.
· Oversee fleet maintenance planning in coordination with the Senior Mechanic, ensuring vehicles are safe, clean, and road-ready.
· Investigate and resolve customer service issues quickly and professionally, maintaining a high standard of communication with all stakeholders.
· Monitor and manage attendance, vacation planning, and adherence to dress code and appearance policies.
· Lead incident investigations, determine root causes, and implement consistent disciplinary actions as needed.
· Work with Finance to analyze monthly and quarterly performance against budget and operational KPIs.
· Assist in the planning and execution of special events, seasonal peaks, and labor forecasting.
· Contribute to the implementation of new initiatives and continuous improvement programs.
