We are hiring for an Operations Manager at our <Banner> location in <City, Province>.

This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week, and the successful applicant must have open availability.

You will be responsible for:

  • Leading the store team, acting as a coach, mentor, and resource while fostering a positive team environment focused on Always Customer First service.  
  • Supporting the Assistant Store Manager execute and achieve operational excellence through customer experience, health and safety, food safety, merchandising, and front end operations. 
  • Assisting with team member related matters (e.g., recruitment, training, performance management, rewards/recognition, succession planning, administration of the collective agreement (if applicable), and conflict resolution).      
  • Communicating key messages to the store team to ensure alignment with business objectives.  
  • Ensuring the successful implementation of strategies to grow sales and customer loyalty. 
  • Reviewing and analyzing business/HR metrics and dashboards to monitor store performance. 
  • Supporting the Assistant Store Manager in reviewing and analyzing income statements and working with the management team to identify opportunities to meet targets, grow profit and improve store performance. 
  • Supporting inventory and stocktaking in all areas of the store. 
  • Performing all job duties throughout the store as needed, including lifting weight (up to 50 lbs), standing for long periods of time, and working in hot/cold environments.    

You have:

  • 2-3 years of experience leading a team and supporting store operations. 
  • Food Safe Certification. 
  • A post-secondary education in a business related field is an asset.
  • Experience working in the Fresh department(s) in a retail environment is an asset.
  • Experience and/or knowledge with: 
    • Achieving sales targets and profitability.   
    • Financial planning and budgeting.  
    • Developing and executing merchandising plans.  
    • Human Resources (e.g. recruitment and onboarding, health and safety, coaching and mentoring).  
    • Employee Relations and knowledge of the collective agreement (if applicable). 
    • Scheduling.  
  • Proficiency with computer applications.
