Job Summary
We are seeking a seasoned and dynamic Operations Manager with a strong track record of accountability and delivering measurable results. In this critical leadership role, you will oversee daily business operations across multiple departments, including engineering, procurement, inventory control, production, lean manufacturing, quality control, health and safety, maintenance, and employee relations. Your primary objective will be to maximize efficiency and drive overall corporate profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement initiatives that align with corporate goals to achieve both short- and long-term operational excellence.
- Continuous Improvement: Partner with the continuous improvement team to identify and eliminate inefficiencies across production, inventory, and procurement processes.
- Team Empowerment: Lead, coach, and inspire a high-performing team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and operational excellence.
- Performance Metrics: Establish and monitor manufacturing KPIs, delivering regular performance reports and actionable insights to senior leadership.
- Financial Stewardship: Oversee budget forecasting and resource planning to ensure effective cost management and optimal resource allocation.
- Operational Reporting: Generate and maintain comprehensive operational reports to support data-driven decision-making.
- Inventory Management: Manage purchasing and inventory strategies to support production while minimizing inventory holding costs.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Promote the company’s values and reputation through strong relationships with customers, suppliers, community stakeholders, and employees, maintaining a commitment to ethical business practices.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure adherence to all safety regulations and standard operating procedures to foster a safe and compliant work environment.
Qualifications and Skills
- Education: Post-secondary diploma or degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience in manufacturing operations, including at least 4 years in a senior management capacity.
- Language: Proficiency in English is required.
- Certifications: Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification is required.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent attention to detail. Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 (especially Excel); experience with Microsoft Business Central and Power BI is an asset.
