QUALIFICATIONS/ REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • 3+ years of relevant experience in operations management, preferably in the IT industry.
  • Strong understanding of business operations, financial, and accounting principles in a multinational setting; experience with tools like Xero is advantageous.
  • Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively across different time zones, demonstrating exceptional time management.
  • Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise tasks, adapt to changing business needs, meet deadlines, work in a dynamic environment, and achieve excellence in business operations.
  • Familiarity with Australian business operations and regulatory environment is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with Philippine’s business operations and regulatory environment is an advantage.
  • A background in professional services and/or experience with IT industry practices, vendor eco-system, partner programs, and procurement processes is a plus.
Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

As the Operations Manager for SECTION6, you are expected to have a solid understanding and experience of finance, accounting, order management, and general business operations. You should have strong attention to detail, excellent numeracy and written communication skills, analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and an unwavering drive for excellence in business operations.
Your main responsibilities will include managing, executing, and improving SECTION6 operational and financial processes required for smooth and efficient operations of our three geographies, reporting on business performance, managing the SECTION6 Operations team, and making sure there are no surprises.
You should also uphold the integrity of the organisation by being knowledgeable about regulations and compliance standards that apply to the business.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Financial Oversight:
  • Monitor, report, and accurately forecast financial KPIs and metrics relative to company financial goals.
  • Oversee cashflow management, expenditure, draft detailed financial reports, and implement improvements to accounting and financial processes.
  • Compliance and Risk Management:
  • Ensure adherence to internal policies, external regulatory standards, and contractual obligations.
  • Maintain and ensure the accuracy of company records, legal documents, and compliance certifications.
  • Contract and Vendor Management:
  • Review, renew, and negotiate contracts within delegated authority in support of business operational needs and cost efficiency.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, vendors, and suppliers to ensure smooth execution and issue resolution.
  • Payroll and HR Support:
  • Oversee payroll processes and resolve payroll-related matters with accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Provide day-to-day support to SECTION6 staff, contractors, and leadership team as required.
  • Operational Efficiency:
  • Establish, execute, and enhance business reporting on key performance indicators and metrics.
  • Continuously improve, document, standardise, and streamline operational processes to maximise efficiency.
  • Monitor the effectiveness and efficiency of administrative functions within the Operations area and introduce improvements as needed.
  • Event Coordination:
  • Plan and execute team events, ensuring all aspects run smoothly.
  • Strategic Collaboration:
  • Act as the primary operational liaison between SECTION6, its clients, and suppliers.
  • Find proactive solutions to achieve a “no surprises” outcome across all business operational processes.
  • Additional Duties:
  • Travel domestically on average once a quarter to participate in team events.
  • Take on other tasks or projects reasonably requested by the SECTION6 leadership team.
