QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Extensive Engineering and/or manufacturing Management experience
  • Proven experience with team management including mentoring and coaching
  • A Degree or equivalent in Manufacturing/Engineering or related subject
  • In depth knowledge of quality, health, safety, and environmental standards
  • In depth knowledge of regulations and standards relevant to industry
  • Exposure to Lean methodologies – Six Sigma, Kaizen, Everyday problem solving
  • NEBOSH or IOSH Safety qualification
  • Driving licence

Responsibilities

We have an exciting opportunity for an Operations Manager to join the Siltbuster team, based out of our Head Office in Monmouth.
The Operations Manager is responsible for all Workshop and Yard operations whilst maintaining a high standard of health & safety and quality, ensuring a right first time approach and on time delivery to all customers (internal and external.) They will act as a role model for their team and will build strong relationships with their peers in order to deliver best in class service.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Operational Team to success whilst fostering a culture of continuous improvement and identifying and closing out operational risks.
  • Manage and develop direct reports including identification of skills gaps, training, mentoring and coaching to ensure everyone is adequately performing their role within each team function.
  • Ensure all quality incidents assigned to the Operations function are suitably investigated, and root cause, corrective actions & preventative actions are completed.
  • All equipment is assembled according to drawings and build lists and is tested to ensure it meets the requirements of the client and the business.
  • Through effective planning make sure that all required resources are available to satisfy customer demand (People, Equipment, Space) – develop plans to bridge any gaps.
  • Provide a positive, leadership role in SHEQ behaviours and ensure policies are implemented effectively to teams.
