Description

This is a direct hire opportunity in the packaging manufacturing industry. Must have 3+ years’ experience in manufacturing in this position. Must have a valid driver’s license and solid work history.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Requires education generally found in a High School Degree or an equivalency at bare minimum, with other expertise and educational experiences supporting a high level of competency. A minimum of three successful years of supervision/management or equivalency in corrugated packaging is required. Able to motivate personnel and develop team approaches. Must be able to train, coach and act as a facilitator. Must be able to utilize the Microsoft suite of products, as well as utilize other supporting software and ERP systems.

Responsibilities

JOB PURPOSE AND REPORTING STRUCTURE:

Under the direction of the President, the Operations Manager is responsible for the effective planning, formulation, product quality and personnel development concerning the manufacture and delivery of our product.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

Is a member of the Management Team and leads the department to meet corporate requirements. Sets and has accountability for all manufacturing, shipping and maintenance budgets.
Develops and sets production goals, programs and incentives.
Maintains and follows department personnel policies and documentation; including approved hiring and termination.
Plans and implements the use of quality programs.
Keeps the President informed with respect to the status of projects and responsibilities.
Develops creative solutions to department issues and submits recommendations.
Responsible development of maintenance planning and programs.
Determines and identifies practical labor cost, acceptable waste levels and production capacities. Manages and operates to meet scheduled delivery dates consistent with proper utilization of facilities. Responsible for plant safety and proper labor ratios.
Responsible for recruiting, developing, training and leading a competent work force to meet production, shipping/receiving and maintenance requirements. Maintains good labor relations and practices. Creates employee involvement through effective communication and work teams. Complies with government related regulations.
Develops plant safety standards and follows Employee Manual Policies and ensures compliance.
Performs external and annual internal auditing
Performs all jobs and duties assigned or come up in day-to-day operations.
