Description

A growing medical technology distribution business is looking for an experienced operations leader to take ownership of its supply chain function during a period of sustained expansion. This is a senior, CFO-facing role suited to someone who wants to build systems and processes - not just maintain them.

What sets this business apart is its commitment to operating at the leading edge of automation and AI-driven process improvement - well ahead of where most companies in the distribution space currently sit. The company supplies specialty healthcare technologies through partnerships with overseas manufacturers and has built its name over 20+ years on clinical credibility and service quality. That reputation now needs to scale alongside the business, and technology is central to how that happens.

What success looks like in this role:

- Modernised key operational workflows through automation (RPA/UiPath or similar), reducing manual effort as order volumes grow

- Renegotiated or restructured freight and 3PL arrangements to bring logistics costs down

- Strengthened on-time delivery and order accuracy metrics through tighter process control

- Ensured the business remains audit-ready on regulatory fronts — TGA compliance, ISO 9001, cold-chain handling, and recall procedures

- Built a reporting rhythm with the CFO and leadership team that gives them real visibility into operations

You're likely a strong fit if you have:

- A minimum of 5 years in an operations or supply chain leadership capacity, supported by a relevant qualification

- Direct experience owning 3PL relationships - SLAs, performance reviews, the full governance piece

- A track record of scaling teams through growth rather than just managing steady-state operations

- Comfort working across systems like SAP and Salesforce, plus inventory tools such as Netstock

- Exposure to RPA platforms is a bonus, not a requirement

- The ability to talk numbers with finance and talk logistics with the warehouse floor, equally fluently

- Prior experience in medical devices, pharma, or broader healthcare distribution - while not mandatory, it's a solid plus
