As a member of the Headland Hotel & Spa, you are required to project a positive and enthusiastic attitude at all times, ensuring that the guests needs are met to the highest possible standard and that customer care along with attention to detail is paramount at all times. All opportunities to increase sales should be encouraged throughout the hotel. Hotel Operations Manager oversees the entire operations of the hotel. Operations include human resources, housekeeping, security, public relations, food service, sales and finances. It is the hotel operations manager’s job to deal effectively with customers, managers and team members while keeping the hotel running smoothly. The hotel operations manager assign department heads to help manage the hotel. Creating a work schedule, hiring new employees and training staff are all duties of the hotel operations manager.
To maintain the standards of the hotel/brand during shift, paying particular attention to the public areas and the internal and external ambience of the hotel
To be fully responsible for the hotel in the absence of the general manager
To oversee the day to day running of the hotel
To develop, implement and support the training process within the hotel
To ensure that all staff are present for duty and in their correct uniform
To deal with any guest comments, fully ensuring that a satisfactory result is reached
To ensure the guests receive the highest quality of service possible
Creating a cross-trained and motivated employee workforce capable of meeting the highest standards
To bring to the attention of the general manager any incentive ideas you may have
To promote a friendly and pleasant working atmosphere
To ensure all departments are working efficiently
To ensure there is always communication between departments
To fully support the general manager
To be overall responsible of all departments health and safety requirements and ensure all files are kept up to date
To oversee all rotas according to business levels
To be responsible for all the employee contracts and hotel inductions
To be involved in the recruitment process for each department
To have weekly job chats with your department heads
Attend all HOD and regular department meetings
Assist with promoting and marketing the business
Manage budgets and financial plans as well as controlling expenditure
Maintain statistical and financial records
Set and achieve sales and profit targets
Ensure that all staff are trained to the required level, obtaining documentary evidences
Meeting and greeting customers
Deal with customer complaints and comments
Ensure events and conferences run smoothly
Supervise maintenance, supplies, renovations and furnishings
Deal with contractors and suppliers
Ensure security is effective
Ensure compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations
Carry out any other reasonable duties that may be requested by management that pertains to the total operation, from time to time
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: Up to £34,000.00 per year
