The Rink Sports Arena & Multipurpose Centre is a social enterprise business. It is operated by our charity Powered By Sport. The facility is a 16,000sq foot complex which contains a 41m x 18m roller rink/multisport hall, Minor hall, changing rooms, toilets and party room/conference room facilities.
Our main income streams include: Public skating, Birthday Parties, Youth Groups, Indoor Sports, Community programmes delivery, Corporate events plus more.
We are loved by our community for providing an energetic and welcoming space for fun, fitness, and events. With exciting growth plans and a strong focus on customer experience, we’re looking for a hands-on, people-focused Manager to lead our team and ensure every visitor leaves with a smile.

HOURS & REQUIREMENTS

  • Availability for weekend peak shifts (Saturday & Sunday) is essential.
  • Some weekday evenings required on an ad-hoc basis.
  • Flexibility to work across busy seasonal periods.
  • Certifications such as First Aid and Working with Children checks will be required (can be obtained after appointment).

Responsibilities

THE ROLE

As Operations Manager, you’ll be the visible leader in the rink and behind the scenes. You’ll oversee daily operations, motivate a team of part-time staff, and work closely with the CEO to deliver excellent customer experiences, strong community engagement, and business growth.
This is a front-line leadership role — perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced leisure or recreation environment and isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead by example as the on-site manager, especially during busy weekends and evenings.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and community engagement, becoming the welcoming face of the rink.
  • Oversee daily operations, including opening/closing, staff coordination, stock maintenance, and facility readiness.
  • Manage cash handling, daily reports, and operational checks.
  • Recruit, train, and coach staff to provide consistently high service standards.
  • Support sports programs, parties, and events, ensuring smooth delivery.
  • Collaborate with the CEO on marketing initiatives, promotions, and service improvements.
  • Maintain a safe, family-friendly environment that aligns with our values.
