JOB SUMMARY

The Operations Manager role at Traffic Safety Supply is responsible for overseeing the safe receipt, production and distribution of TSS’s 7000+ products, from Work Order release to shipment. The Operations Manager ensures efficient production processes, team and resource coordination, timely delivery of products, meeting quality standards and performance targets, to ultimately meet customer needs. They also train and develop production staff, analyze data to identify areas for improvement, and collaborate with other departments to optimize processes.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of manufacturing, distribution, and logistics processes, equipment, theories and best practices. Any distribution experience should have included exposure to small parcel, LTL, and LTL shipments and carriers.
  • Leadership and Management Skills: Ability to motivate, supervise, and manage the day-to-day resources of a 30-50 person production and warehouse team, including communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills: Ability to identify and resolve production issues, analyze data, and implement solutions in accordance with Lean principles.
  • Organizational and Planning Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and implement production schedules.
  • Proficiency in Relevant Software: 3-5 years experience with ERP systems, shop floor control systems, the Microsoft Office Suite, and project management software.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, or a related field, or minimum 3-5 years experience in Production and Distribution
  • Minimum 3-5 years of Production leadership experience
  • Minimum 3-5 years of Warehouse experience, including small parcel, LTL, and LTL shipments and carriers
  • Printing Operations and Graphic Design experience are a plus but not required
