OPERATIONS MANAGER

Salary: Up to £42,000 per annum plus performance bonus and pension
Hours: Full time, 40 hours per week
Location: Rochester, Kent

Responsibilities
  • Manage 10 employees and the daily operations of the Rochester Transfer Station, ensuring the site operates safely and efficiently.
  • Control the movement of materials in and out of the transfer station.
  • Ensure the site has competent operational staff who feel empowered and motivated.
  • Ensure material is dispatched as per waste flow requirements.
  • Build relationships with customers and colleagues, including the wider Veolia Municipal team.
  • Build a partnership with local council members.
  • Ensure staff are fully trained and identify areas of training needed.
  • Maximise and utilise the fixed and mobile plant on site.
  • Ensure any defects or damages are reported.
  • Act as a deputy for the Contract Manager during annual leave or other absences.
  • Assist the contact Manager with the annual budget and forecasting.
