Manage state-wide expenses to meet financial targets and KPIs. Lead the VIC/TAS Fleet Operations team with a hands-on approach when needed. Optimise the business network in line with the company's connectivity strategy. Develop key account relationships to drive revenue growth. Oversee recruitment, training, performance reviews, and employee relations. Collaborate with Fleet teams to ensure vehicle availability matches customer needs. Partner with Finance to implement audits and minimise risk. Build strong relationships with Sales and support key tenders. Maintain positive ties with external stakeholders and evaluate outsourced operations. Drive ancillary sales, improve NPS, and achieve location performance targets. To be considered for this position you should possess: 5+ years of senior management experience overseeing multi-site operations or large teams. Strong leadership and people management skills with experience leading remote and on-site teams. Customer-focused with a background in operations, sales, and customer experience. Proven ability to drive revenue growth and profitability across a state or territory. Proficient in financial management, cost control, and resource allocation. Skilled in motivating teams to achieve KPIs and common goals. Excellent communication and stakeholder influence skills. Resilient, adaptable, and able to thrive under pressure. Willing to travel across VIC/TAS Car rental industry or similar retail experience preferred, with fleet management skills desirable. Car rental will see the light a few years later, across the Atlantic, but its development will be stopped by the first and then by the Second World Wars. In the aftermath of the war, a Parisian entrepreneur revived the idea: “If you can’t afford to buy a car, why not rent one when you need it?”. His name was Raoul-Louis Mattei and in 1949, he created "L'Abonnement Automobile": a company that would later become the Compagnie Internationale Europcars, then Europcar.
