Description
Description Schedule & Voyage Management - Monitor vessel schedules daily, adjusting for weather and port conditions. - Provide captains with clear instructions on estimated time of arrival (ETA), speed, and fuel consumption. - Create and update voyage plans (pro-formas) and issue weekly sailing instructions or updates when delays exceed 12 hours. Performance & Fuel Monitoring - Track vessel and port performance through voyage reports. - Calculate fuel consumption before and after each voyage to identify trends and maintain records. - Submit bunker (fuel) requests well in advance and forecast monthly/quarterly fuel needs. - Analyze fuel usage and suggest ways to improve efficiency. Cargo & Partner Coordination - Handle special cargo approvals (e.g., oversized or hazardous items) with partners. - Communicate vessel schedules and changes to joint venture partners and relevant stakeholders. - Maintain records of cargo or stevedore-related damages and coordinate with agents, owners, and insurers. Planning & Development - Support line managers in maximizing vessel utilization. - Assist in drafting joint working procedures (JWP) with partners. - Contribute to long-term planning, including ship leasing and operational development. Requirements - Proven experience working with container vessels - In-depth knowledge of international shipping rules and regulations - Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint - Fluent in English (spoken, written, and reading) - Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging effectively with customers and colleagues at all levels - Skilled in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM software - Able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team - Proficient in written and spoken English and Cantonese; Mandarin is a plu
