Operations Officer - Fixed Term The majority of these roles will be fixed-term contracts, with a small number of permanent roles also available. Read on if you Ø Have experience in airline operations or a fast-paced operational environment Ø Enjoy proactive problem-solving and managing multiple priorities under pressure Ø Can work flexible shifts in a 24/7 operational environment The Team You’ll be part of the Operations team within Network Control and the wider Integrated Control Centre, operating 24/7 to manage a fleet of aircraft and maintain operational performance. The team works closely with maintenance, ground handling, flight crew, Crewing, and Customer teams to deliver a safe, efficient, and cost-effective operation, keeping delays and disruption to a minimum. Network Control is made up of a highly dedicated and experienced team responsible for safety, compliance, and delivering the highest quality service. The team comprises 28 Officers across 5 teams, each led by a Senior Operations Officer. The Role As an Operations Officer, you’ll proactively manage the fleet, Flight Watch, and operational performance, ensuring timely communication across all stakeholders. You’ll monitor weather, runway slots, and operational systems (ACARS, TOPS, AIMS) to mitigate disruption, manage maintenance planning, and optimise aircraft usage. This is a high-pressure role requiring strong decision-making, planning, communication, and operational awareness. What we’re looking for Ø Proactively manage a fleet of aircraft to minimise delays and disruption Ø Liaise with Crewing, Customer, and Maintenance teams to deliver safe and efficient operations Ø Apply and manage ad-hoc runway slots to maintain compliance and reduce fines Ø Monitor weather and develop mitigating plans where necessary Ø Maintain communication with flight crew via ACARS and disseminate critical information to stakeholders Ø Ensure operational integrity and take steps to mitigate disruption to the flying programme Ø Optimise the use of standby aircraft and crew to gain best value Ø Work closely with Senior Operations Officers and Network Duty Manager during disruption Ø Maintain vital communication lines with internal and external agencies and service providers Ø Oversee and manage easyJet’s runway slot protocols and curfew compliance Ø Record and collate operational event information accurately Ø Fulfil duties required during emergency situations (exercise or actual) Ø Complete all tasks to the highest professional standards and carry out additional duties as directed Key skills and experience Ø At least two years’ experience within an airline operations department Ø FAA Dispatch Licence or equivalent (desirable) Ø Extensive knowledge of TOPS and AIMS systems (desirable) Ø Working knowledge of EASA FTL (desirable) Ø Ability to work to strict deadlines and deliver results under pressure Ø Strong knowledge of airline meteorology and geographical awareness Ø Sound understanding of the easyJet Operations Manual (OM/A) Ø Excellent planning, organisation, and problem-solving skills Ø Customer-focused with strong interpersonal and communication skills Ø Team player, adaptable and flexible to respond to changing demands and timescales Ø Comfortable working 12-hour shifts Ø High competency with PCs and Microsoft Office suite What you’ll get in return Ø 5%25 pension contribution Ø Medical Cash Plan Ø Excellent staff travel benefits Ø Annual credit towards an easyJet holiday Ø Access to flexible benefits and extras Practicalities This full-time role will be based in Luton and will be an average of fourteen shifts per 28 days, with 12-hour shifts, typically from 6.30am to 6.30pm.
