ABOUT US

The Laboratory for Molecular Cell Biology (LMCB) is a research-intensive Division within the Faculty of Life Sciences, with an international reputation for research excellence in cell and tissue biology and innovative education programmes. The LMCB provides a highly collaborative and interdisciplinary research environment, housed in a single building, where staff and students work together to understand the fundamental principles of cell and tissue biology relevant to human disease. The Division has specialist in-house state-of-the-art science technology platforms, which include light, super- resolution and electron microscopy imaging, as well as a world-leading High-content Biology Facility. In addition, the Division is a partner of the UCL-Zeiss Multiscale Imaging Centre and has strong cross- disciplinary links across UCL and beyond, including the Institute of the Physics of Living Systems, the Cancer Institute and the London Centre for Nanotechnology.

Responsibilities

The LMCB is seeking to appoint an Operations Officer. The postholder will be based on the main UCL campus in Bloomsbury. This is an exciting opportunity for someone to join our small team to provide support to the research in the division. The post holder will have responsibility for management of ACDP Category 2 virus lab facility, including statutory weekly H&S checks, risk assessment reviews, oversight of laboratory core equipment maintenance, purchasing of equipment and negotiating cost of repairs and maintenance contracts. This position is offered on a permanent basis and100% on site. The role meets the eligibility requirements for a Skilled Worker Visa certificate of sponsorship under UK Visas and Immigration legislation.
