Under minimal supervision, the Senior Payment Operations Specialist is responsible for operational readiness, up-time, and performance of Discount Tire’s payment systems infrastructure. Manages a combination of cloud payments software and in-store payment devices. The Sr Payment Operations Specialist is embedded in large and highly visible project teams to design, source, and deploy new payment technologies. Project work is balanced against day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of payment terminals across over 1200 retail locations.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5 years of enterprise IT experience, preferably managing and deploying distributed devices
  • 5 years payments experience at a PSP, Gateway, Payment Device Company, or Enterprise Merchant
  • Track record of success working on large cross-functional IT Project Delivery Teams
  • Experience managing full life-cycle of payment terminals preferred

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field or equivalent experience is required.
  • Professional certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities
  • Administer and support critical payments system infrastructure (VHQ, T+, WP TDS, etc.), providing operational and project level support as needed.
  • Work with IT and development teams to implement system enhancements and new payment methods.
  • Monitor web/store transactions, optimizing for auth rate, up-time, and compliance and monitor system performance, troubleshooting as needed
  • Provide support to customers and internal teams regarding payment-related inquiries and issues.
  • Works alongside cross-functional partners to ensure compliance with payment industry regulations, including PCI DSS, AML/KYC, and other relevant standards.
  • Help document and maintain current control process and recommend enhancements
  • Act as L2 support for device-related issues; escalate to vendors when necessary.
  • Coordinate deployment of payment devices to stores, kiosks, and fulfillment centers.
  • Work with field support and operations teams to ensure timely delivery and readiness of hardware.
  • Ensure devices are correctly integrated with POS systems, back-end processors, and payment gateways.
  • Conduct connectivity, certification, and compliance testing during rollout phases.
  • Other duties as assigned.
