Location: This full-time role is based at Hangar 89, London Luton Airport. We support hybrid working with three days per week in the office.
The Operations Performance Data Analyst, reporting to the Operations Data & Insights Manager within the Operations Strategy & Planning team, is responsible for supporting the development and delivery of insights through the creation, implementation, and improvement of analysis, visualisation, and local data products, particularly focused on network performance. The role involves building and maintaining data products that provide actionable insights to improve decision-making and reduce processing time. Key responsibilities include delivering on-time performance and network disruption reports, conducting root cause analysis for continuous improvement, and identifying trends in large datasets to guide business decisions. The analyst will also drive simplicity in processes, recommend and implement departmental improvements, gather qualitative feedback to influence future enhancements, and ensure accuracy and consistency in reporting. Additionally, the role involves maintaining data product documentation and conducting ad hoc analysis as required.
We asked our Head of Operational Planning what makes this role at easyJet:
It’s a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The role is diverse and keeps things interesting, as you’ll collaborate with various departments, such as Ground Operations and Commercial, offering a broad overview of the business. You’ll be involved in a mix of pipeline projects, key deliverables, and ad hoc responsibilities, all while working closely with stakeholders. There’s a focus on building and refining tools, bringing them to life, and making a real impact. Plus, there are great opportunities for growth. Structurally, you can progress to a senior role, develop managerial skills, and step up beyond that. It’s an exciting time to be in the operational analytics space at easyJet, as we’re becoming more data-focused, consolidating our analytics capabilities, and aligning closely with operation.
Responsibilities:
To excel in this role, you should have a solid understanding of key performance metrics and experience in analytics or data science. Proficiency in advanced Microsoft Excel, the Tableau visualisation platform, and experience in writing and using SQL are essential. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are key, as is the ability to present insights clearly. You’ll thrive in a team focused on continuous improvement and demonstrate a high degree of personal and professional flexibility. Desirable skills include experience with MS SQL Studio, SSIS scripts, Python, VB scripts and Tableau. If you have experience in these areas, we’d love to hear from you!
