Description Classification: Exempt Reports To: CFO *** Position Based In Buhl or Boise, Idaho *** Job Summary/Objective Based in Buhl, ID, Riverence is the nation’s leader in sustainable steelhead, rainbow trout and salmon production and distribution, as well as distributor of other seafood products. We are a fully integrated from egg to table, multi-entity enterprise encompassing brood farms, grow-out farms, finished product processing, and distribution through our nationwide trucking system. We are seeking experienced op-erations planning expert to coordinate our planning, analysis and reporting company wide. Role will participate with management in executing our vision of excellence and growth in seafood production and distribution. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on business finance professional with proven ac-counting experience in a manufacturing and distribution setting, with experience in cost accounting, budgeting, operational planning, systems implementation and process improvement. He/she will over-see the operations, production and financial planning process working closely with operations across Riverence with focus on Transparency, Education and Accountability to help improve our operational efficiency and aid in our continued growth. This position will report to the Controller and work closely with the CFO and will participate with management in the planning and execution of our strategic plans. Essential Functions - Key Objectives of this Role Learn Riverence complex and dynamic business. Work closely with CFO, Operational departments and IT in building dynamic business models based on agreed-upon KPIs; and developing processes and systems to identify, implement, and measure such KPIs. Provide KPI and operational reporting to operations and senior management. Facilitate and lead operations and production planning for supply (farms), processing, demand (sales), logistics. Manage multiple planning horizons: two-years (egg production), annual budget, forecast updates, monthly updates, and weekly optimization. Own and facilitate cost accounting for farms, processing, distribution and sales to help everyone better understand the economics of Riverence, their operations and making the best decisions. Provide Transparency with reporting, Educate operations by collaborating with objective to im-prove results with Accountability. Assist in the implementation and long-term ownership of operational and financial planning systems. Work closely with Manager ERP for maintenance and optimization Microsoft Dynamics ERP system. Cross train with Manager ERP to be co-system admin including understanding mission critical EDI and integration processes to provide backup support. Focus on process improvement leveraging systems. Develop and modify Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to train users and improve quality, timeliness and efficiency of data and reporting. Participate in training broad spectrum of operations for performance of related process and usage of systems. At times, may supervise functions in accounting depending on evolution of accounting team. At times, may perform and cross train daily, weekly or monthly accounting processes. May assist in monthly closing to meet tight deadlines. Goal is to learn processes and identify opportunities for improvement. Automate and maintain integration to reporting systems from key operations systems such as MS365 ERP, processing (Innova/Marel), harvest (Farm Harvest Report) and farms / brood (Aqua Manager). Through collaboration with other operational departments, improve inter-departmental communication and controls to enhance operational efficiencies and accountability throughout the company Goal will be to improve and optimize through emerging technologies such as AI. Help support short and long-term strategic plans. Daily and Monthly Responsibilities Initially, may be assigned responsibility for daily accounting areas, weekly inventory reconciliation and monthly closing to learn them and cross train others. Identify opportunities to improve automation, efficiency and accuracy. Daily and weekly KPI generation. Work closely with operations to help everyone better under-stand the business, drivers and make decisions for course correction. Currently in EXCEL from multiple data sources. Goal is to automate. Assist implementation of planning and reporting systems. Goal is to leverage system to work closely with operations in developing weekly production plans for Farms, Processing and Sales. Collaborate with management in developing and monitoring operating and capex budgets, financial and operational KPIs, variance analyses, inventory/cost accounting improvements, and trans-actional and strategic analyses. Build the cost accounting models for farms, processing, distribution and sales. Work closely with operations to understand and update. Goal will be to review all new items and customers and quickly prepare costs to assist in decision making for pricing and approval. Proactively collaborate with sales of potential new items and customers to minimize surprises. Identify supply and demand gaps in advance and work with operations to develop actions to maximize value. Support accounting and operations team with dynamic leadership that creates an environment of trust and productivity. Strong supervisory and mentoring skills Required Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or related field Accounting experience in agriculture, manufacturing or distribution environment Experience implementing ERP and planning systems with understanding of configurations, integrations and super user system administration. Experience with Vena Solutions and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central preferred. Additional Eligibility Qualifications None. Position Location and Travel Position located in Buhl or Boise, Idaho office. Remote work potential after developing strong under-standing of operations and building strong working relationships. If not in Buhl, will require 20 – 25% travel to Buhl to work with operations and team. Travel to sites as needed for projects and as operational needs is required. Majority of sites are within one hour of Buhl office. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work Full-time position, 5 days a week, Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. These hours vary depending on projects and deadlines. The ability to work long days, including occasional weekends including overnight travel, is required. Work Environment The employee generally works in an office setting with occasional travel to sites which could expose the employee to outside environmental situations including hot, cold and/or wet conditions. The position requires extensive use of office equipment as well as occasional use of other types of manufacturing/processing or specialized aquaculture equipment. Expect to spend time in plants and at farms as necessary to build relationships, understand business, and improve data and processes. The employee may at times require hearing protection. Physical Demands This position requires walking, standing, bending, and lifting/carrying (up to 35 pounds). Often requires walking or moving to accomplish tasks. Often requires standing or sitting for sustained periods of time. Occasionally it requires stooping and reaching. Occasionally requires pushing using upper extremities to press against something with steady force. Occasionally it requires pulling using upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, drag, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion. Lifting is required on an occasional basis. Repetitive motions are required which involve substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Hearing must be adequate to perform duties and interact in person clearly and efficiently.
