We are currently seeking a driven Operations Planning Supervisor to become part of our team in Derby (DE65 6BG). In this critical role, you will be essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our processes by optimizing resources and effective planning. You will report to the Operations Manager and take charge of overseeing the planning elements of our transportation to guarantee efficient operations.
The shift patterns for this role are Monday to Friday (08:00-16:30, based on a 40-hour contract).

Key responsibilities:

  • To ensure all deliveries are cost-effective, deliverable, compliant and built for onward delivery by a mix of dedicated equipment and approved sub-contract hauliers
  • To maintain good customer relationships, acting as the key customer contact for order requests and processing
  • Ensure that professional and effective communication is always maintained
  • Identify and recommend appropriate resolutions to customer queries or failures
  • Continuously look to improve processes and procedures to drive efficiency, effectiveness, and improvements in business operations and customer service
  • Ensure all health and safety procedures are adhered to all times, raising any non-compliances or concerns at the earliest opportunity
  • Ensure all company procedures, including absence, performance, holiday, etc are managed and adhered to
  • Responsibility for transport plans to optimising core fleet utilisation and close management of sub-contract haulage costs are in line with SLA agreements

Key Skills and Experience:

  • Excellent Transport understanding with broad experience, preferably in utilities transport, and with 4PL experience
  • Flexible approach to hours of work and location
  • Proven ability to interface with customers
  • Clean Driving licence
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • IT – Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Vision, Zeus
  • Ability to withstand pressure and work to tight deadlines
