POSITION

The Department of Pediatrics is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Operations Process Lead to join our team. Reporting to the Academic Department Manager (ADM) and working closely with the Academic Department Chair, the Operations Process Lead will play a key role in developing, advising, and improving department-level processes and procedures. The lead will focus on employee experience, including recruitment, onboarding, faculty evaluation, and career development for both faculty members and staff.This individual will ensure that all departmental processes and procedures are aligned with University and HRHSE policies. The Operations Process Lead will provide expert guidance on career development for both academic and clinical faculty members, as well as staff. Additionally, this role will be involved in navigating probation reviews, tenure and promotion processes, and coordinating reviews with the Faculty Evaluation Committee and Clinical Faculty Promotion Committee.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Undergraduate degree, preferably in Business or HR Management.
  • 5+ years of experience working in a large unionized postsecondary environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in HR processes and career development, especially within an academic or clinical setting, is an asset.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders to develop and implement department-level HR processes.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly organized, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to take initiative and solve problems effectively.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, advise, and improve processes and procedures related to employee experience, including recruitment, onboarding, faculty evaluation, and career development.
  • Ensure alignment of department processes with University and HRHSE policies.
  • Provide guidance and support on faculty and staff career development, promotion, and evaluation processes.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders, including the HR Partner, Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry office, Staff Service Centre, and other internal/external resources to ensure consistent and efficient HR practices.
  • Supervise the Department Coordinator and AMHSP Coordinator to ensure timely and effective HR support for the department.
  • Serve as the first point of escalation for troubleshooting faculty and staff HR transactional and process issues.
  • Contribute to the development of annual strategic plans for employee engagement and experience within the Department of Pediatrics.
