Description Department: Operations Reports To: Operations Manager FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Location: North Charleston, SC Position Summary The Operations and Shipping Coordinator is responsible for supporting daily operational activities with a primary focus on shipping, logistics coordination, inventory movement, and documentation. This role ensures that finished goods and materials are shipped accurately, on time, and in compliance with company procedures, customer requirements, and transportation regulations. The Coordinator works closely with Operations, Production, Warehouse, and external carriers to maintain efficient material flow and accurate records. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Coordinate daily shipping activities, including scheduling pickups, preparing shipment documentation, and communicating with carriers. Ensure accurate preparation of bills of lading, packing lists, shipping labels, and related records. Track inbound and outbound shipments and resolve delivery issues or discrepancies. Maintain accurate inventory movement records and support reconciliation efforts with warehouse and operations teams. Collaborate with production and operations personnel to prioritize shipments and meet customer deadlines. Verify shipment accuracy, quantities, and condition prior to release. Support compliance with safety, DOT, and shipping regulations. Assist with receiving activities as needed, including documentation and inventory updates. Communicate shipment status and exceptions to internal stakeholders. Support continuous improvement efforts related to logistics efficiency, accuracy, and cost control. Maintain organized shipping and operational records in accordance with company policies. Perform other related duties as assigned. Work Environment Combination of office, warehouse, and production floor environments. Exposure to noise, moving equipment, and industrial materials. Adherence to all safety procedures and PPE requirements is mandatory. Requirements Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. 2+ years of experience in shipping, logistics, operations coordination, or warehouse support. Working knowledge of shipping documentation, carrier coordination, and inventory movement. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with basic computer systems and data entry. Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across departments. Preferred Qualifications Experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or distribution environment. Familiarity with ERP, inventory management, or shipping systems. Experience working with LTL, full truckload, or specialized freight carriers. Forklift certification or experience (or willingness to obtain). Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift materials up to 30 pounds as required. Ability to work in warehouse and production environments.
