Job Description The Operations Specialist needs to have familiarity with the audit or accounting process, software, and language.  The ideal candidate should have 1-3 years of experience working within an accounting firm in an operational or administrative capacity. This role is perfect for someone who may have worked in public accounting but does not want to be on the client-facing side of it.  * Responsible for creating specific niche schedule twice a year.  * Responsible for maintaining schedule’s completeness by: * Balancing staff availability and client availability. * Reviewing holiday/PTO accommodations. * Ensuring jobs are staffed adequately with the levels needed. * Input trainings into schedule and resolve any schedule conflicts. * Attend scheduling calls and follow up with action items to scheduling staff. * Respond to requests from the Audit department in a timely manner regarding scheduling changes, scheduling of staff, availability, etc.  * Review client portal two weeks before audit phases to confirm that the client has uploaded the necessary documents. If not, the Operations Specialist will contact the client and inform the manager and team, then adjust scheduled dates if necessary. * Prepare engagement letters.   * Administrative support to specific niche. Duties can vary per request from staff or management.  Qualifications A successful candidate would encompass the following: * Detailed-oriented and be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. * Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products is required, with an emphasis on Excel and Word. * 1-3 years of experience working within public accounting. * Familiarity with the audit process, software, and language. * Experience working in a paperless environment and remotely is strongly preferred. * Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills. * Team player who is a quick learner with a positive “can-do” approach to work. Additional Information The salary range for this position reflects a broad set of factors considered in compensation decisions, including—but not limited to—skills, experience, training, certifications, and overall business needs. The stated range has not been adjusted for geographic differentials that may apply based on the position’s location. At AAFCPAs, it is uncommon for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range, as compensation decisions are based on each candidate’s specific background and circumstances. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range for this role is $65,000 - $70,000 not inclusive of any bonus potential.
