Description
About EF At EF, we believe travel changes people. For over 55 years, we’ve been designing educational tours that help people see the world, understand it, and find their place in it. Our Sydney team sits at the heart of our South Pacific operations, managing complex, high-quality tours across Australia, New Zealand, and the wider Pacific. The Role   We’re looking for a Tour Production Specialist for the South Pacific region across both of our tour products. You’ll support production across two distinct areas of EF’s travel business: EF World Journeys, focused on immersive travel experiences for adults, and EF Educational Tours, which delivers guided educational tours for students and educators. In this role, you’ll be responsible for the operational accuracy, supplier management, and ongoing maintenance of all land tour components. You’ll oversee key tour line items in our operational systems from creation through completion, helping ensure our tours are accurate, seamless, and ready for delivery. You’ll work closely with Operations teams on tour details, make relevant system updates, and contribute to company goals and KPIs through high-quality execution and continuous tour maintenance. You’ll be the go-to person for all things production in the South Pacific. If you thrive in a complex, fast-moving environment and take pride in delivering seamless travel experiences, this role is for you. What You'll Be Doing * Source, onboard, and build lasting relationships with suppliers across the region * Collaborate with the wider team on tour routing and logistics * Manage vendor communication and track booking and service status * Manage the shared product inbox for confirmations, questions, issues, invoices, and complaints * Confirm tour components with vendors and record confirmations in operations systems * Reconfirm reservations with suppliers and ensure all services are in place ahead of departure * Manage budgets across both products, monitoring spend and keeping cost variances in check * Lead pre-tour calls across all tours and products * Lead responses to disruptions by finding alternatives, coordinating with stakeholders, and keeping tours on track * Act as the first point of escalation for quality issues, complex itinerary questions, and on-tour emergencies * Contribute to ongoing tour design and product improvements * Travel to tour locations to meet suppliers and conduct safety checks   What We're Looking For * 1-3 years of experience in tour operations, production, or a similar travel/operations role * Strong supplier management and negotiation skills * Experience managing budgets and monitoring cost performance * Ability to manage complex, multi-supplier itineraries calmly and accurately under pressure * Strong communication skills and confidence leading pre-tour calls and managing supplier relationships * High attention to detail and a methodical approach to systems and data * Experience handling on-tour emergencies and operational disruptions * Self-directed, organised, and comfortable managing a broad workload across multiple products * Adaptable in a fast-changing travel environment and aware of global events that may affect operations * Australian or international driver’s license preferred   Why Join EF * Work with a globally recognised educational travel brand with over 55 years of history * Be part of a close-knit Sydney team with direct impact on travel experiences across the South Pacific * Access EF’s global network, with offices in 115 countries * Take on a role with genuine ownership, variety, and the chance to make a real difference in how people experience the world * Enjoy travel opportunities, including eligibility to join one tour each year Some companies are in the business of banking. Others are in the business of shoes. Or sports. Or soft drinks. At EF, we're in a different kind of business. One that's a little less tangible, and a lot more important. Because our business, what we make, makes everything else possible. We're in the business of understanding. Between people. Between cultures.   For over half a century we’ve been the leader in international educational programs and experiences designed to foster such understanding.  Through language, cultural exchange, academic studies, and educational travel, we create the kinds of immersive experiences that challenge biases, open minds, and pave the way for a more understanding world.    You’ll find our offices and schools located in some of the world’s greatest cities, and filled with smart, driven people (over 50,000 of us) who push each other to be better every day. But it’s what we do together - building greater understanding, breaking down barriers, and creating a better world - that makes all the difference.    Founded in 1965 in Sweden, EF (Education First) is a global association of education companies that share a common mission of opening the world through education. EF has been recognized on Forbes 2025 and 2024 World’s Best Employers and 2024 Top Companies for Women lists, Fast Company’s 2025 Next Big Things In Tech, and was a 2024 App Store Award winner in Cultural Impact.
