Operations Specialist (German speaker) Department: Operations Employment Type: Full Time Location: Berlin Compensation: €28,900 - €32,000 / year Description Upway is a fast growing startup building the largest marketplace for refurbished e-bikes globally. We have refurbished over 20,000 e-bikes in just two years and are growing fast! We are currently expanding our Operations Specialist team at the Berlin Upcenter, Upway's largest one in the world. The Operations Specialist team is in charge of the whole e-bikes refurbishment process, except for the mechanical part of repairing it: from the moment the e-bike arrives at our Upcenter, to the moment it is ready to be sold and shipped to our customers. You will play a key role throughout the whole refurbishment process: Operations Specialists are the first ones to lay eyes on the bikes, before it is repaired by the mechanics team, and the ones that ensure that it is delivered in an excellent condition to our customers. Expect to learn a lot about e-bikes as you will work side by side with the mechanics and operational teams. Key Responsibilities You independently carry out functional tests on newly arrived bikes to review their condition You carefully document all bike components to ensure complete and accurate information - if you don't know much about bikes, don't worry, you will learn! You thoroughly clean and prepare the bikes once they have been repaired You take high-quality photos of the bikes in a dedicated photo station You ensure high quality standards by preparing the bikes to be shipped to our customer: inspect the bikes to ensure they are in perfect condition, protect them, and coordinate the shipments with our logistics partners You keep track of inventory levels of bikes and packaging material to ensure data accuracy You become an essential part of our team and bring in ideas to improve our processes You lead a team of Ops Specialists: guide them through the day, help prioritise and achieve the targets Skills, Knowledge and Expertise You have previous experience as a logistics employee, warehouse specialist or warehouse manager (not a must, but a good to have!) You enjoy working in a team and communicate clearly with your colleagues to ensure a smooth workflow You work independently and solve issues proactively You have previous experience in leading teams (not a must, but a plus!)
