Job Purpose Summary: Primary job responsibility is production oversight of oil plant operations for Adams Vegetable Oil’s seed processing and oil refining plant. Focus is providing effective and efficient implementation of dependable ongoing plant operations. Program structure includes strong emphasis on productivity, food quality, and an absolute commitment to industrial safety at all times. Food Safety Policy: Adams Group is committed to producing and distributing high quality products through adherence to industry and regulatory standards. As an Adams Group employee, you will be trained on our food safety policies and will be held accountable to adhering to them. You will be encouraged and required to notify supervision about actual or potential food safety issues. Everyone at Adams is involved in delivering safe food - within your scope of work you will be empowered to act to resolve food safety issues. Key Responsibilities: Monitor Plant efficiencies (production output, yields, process supplies usage). Play critical role in suggesting and developing routine protocol for standard operations. Makes onsite decisions during non-standard operations. Provide inputs into preventive maintenance program. Develop shift production reports for management. Maintain operations sanitation schedules and records. Ensure operation is compliant with Safety and Food Safety Requirements. Monitor operations for potential Safety and Food Safety hazards on regular basis. Champions Safety and food safety programs. Participates in monthly safety meetings. Works off shifts (Swing and Graveyard) on ongoing regular basis. Creates and maintains personnel schedules Other duties as required QualificationsRequired Qualifications: 5 years of experience in food processing or degree in Food Science or Engineering Experience in industrial commodity processing systems. Must be proficient in reading, speaking, and writing in English for the purpose of record keeping, safety and quality training processes & communicating business related information High School diploma or GED equivalent required Skills and Competencies: Standard computer user skills. Ability to follow policies & procedures Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience in an industrial or quality environment preferred Demonstrated ability to work in a team & safety environment Experience in industrial commodity processing systems. Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written.
