Agropur is looking for a Operations Supervisor to join is Burnaby team for a 16 months contract.
The Operations Supervisor leads the Production and Cooler Warehouse department to ensure that qualitative and quantitative measures included in the operating plan are met. Specific focus is on sanitation and quality results (HACCP and SQF), health and safety, good manufacturing practices and productivity. The incumbent participates to maintain the requirements on food safety, quality and defence. Other focus areas are labour relations, employee scheduling/staffing, cost improvements , and customer satisfaction.
Maintain a productive, cost efficient, high quality product cooler operation.

Responsibilities

More specifically, the Operations Supervisor’s responsibilities will include:

  • Ensure compliance of health and safety regulations, and the ability to implement programs to improve safety culture.
  • Responsible for employee relations including work direction of employees, hiring, training, performance reviews, administering policies and procedures, and disciplinary action.
  • Provide leadership, direction and coaching to the Production and Cooler Warehouse team;
  • Promote and enhance a positive employee relation atmosphere including efforts to continuously improve teamwork and establish high levels of employee involvement.
  • Ensures consistent application of best practices towards product evaluation, food safety and quality to support and maintain Agropur’s quality standards;
  • Supports the operation of the HACCP team to ensure that the facility and documentation are suitable for third party/customer audits to maintain the SQF/ HACCP status at the plant;
  • Monitor and ensure efficiency of plant equipment and resources and ensure production requirements are met on time.
  • Responsible for achieving department budgets in the area of labour costs by measuring and improving productivity and processes.
  • Exhibit a professional manner in dealing with others and work to maintain constructive working relationships.
  • Result driven, bottom-line orientated, strives to exceed goals, and motivates self and others to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Demonstrate ability to drive organizational change through strong interpersonal and communication skills and formal problem-solving techniques.
